In fact, you could skip the painting stage completely and leave the bells in all their rustic glory.
Another idea is to coat your bells in a thin layer of PVA glue and sprinkle them with some glitter for even more sparkles on your Christmas tree.

NOTE: You need to use ribbons with widths no larger than 1cm if you want to be able to poke the knots inside the bell. I tried to poke a 15mm width ribbon inside the bell as a test and I wasn’t able to do it. You could however thread a larger width ribbon through the bell and tie the knot externally and it would still look adorable…

How To Make Rustic DIY Christmas Bells
These stunning rustic DIY Christmas bells can be made in less than 15 minutes using a few simple supplies & make perfect DIY tree ornaments!
Materials
- Rustic Bells
- Festive Ribbon
- Gold Acrylic Paint
- White Acrylic Paint
Tools
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Small Poking Tool (like a knitting needle)
Instructions
- The first thing you should do with any crafting project is to gather your materials and tools
- Paint your bells in any color of your choice.
- depending on how long you want them to hang. Tie a tight knot at both ends of the ribbon as shown...
- Use a pointed tool like a knitting needle to poke the knots you've created in your ribbon into your bell. Be very careful with your fingers in this step. If you can't get the knots inside in the bell, simply poke an unknotted end of the ribbon through the bell and tie the ends together externally.
- Display your beautiful handmade bells on your Christmas tree.
